Hey

ive been thinking for awhile about the substrate of my New World tank. when i had no substrate my convicts spawned, when i had sand they didnt seem interested in eachother for some reason. sand looks nice and all but i have it all of my other tanks. so ive been thinking,do NWs prefer natural gravel to sand?anddo you rthink i should change it back to gravel?

thanx

I like sand but I cant have it my fish dont stop digging and its wreaks my filter when they are always sucking in sand :/ Im thinking about getting black heavy sans so it doesnt ge everywhere, i know for a fact i will never switch just becuz i dont wanna lose any JD fry and im fairly lazy.

mine seem to really like fine gravel (cons) but the other tank has big gravel... for bigger fish ;)

p.s that animation in ur sig is awsome dwarf_dude

I've never had sand (Always natural gravel or black gravel) My fish don't care, my geo still sifts in the gravel, my severum picks some up and spits it out, and my rainbows spawned in 2 days flat after I got them :hyper: (In a natural gravel tank) Go ahead and try gravel if you want to, I think it would be more natural for NW from a rocky area, and make them feel mor comfortable

thanx for the advice

i think im gonna pic up some natural gravel once my jewel fry are free swimming an i can move them.
