Not a very good question actually ... Most of what you said does not make much sense.
Simple math's, if you have a 120g tank it's 3g a beta then you could fit 40 in there.
As for the 6 foot idea it'd be easy, have 5 dividers going accross the tank from front to back every foot and have 3 dividers going the length of the tank. This would give you more than 3g a Betta but like they say more the better.

No what i mean is. Say the tanks 6ft. But its not around 120 Gallons. but you could still fit 40 betta's in? But i would be overstocked

Betta's are like any fish would like loads of space

i know bu say the tank did'nt have that much hight? that means there less Water inside? Witch then means your then over stocked does'nt it?

Knox male bettas love space the more the better they only need to patrol an area if other males are presant which no sane or self respecting fish keeper would subject their fish to. The knowlage that they "prefer small spaces" is absoloute bovine manure 
Sorry but it annoys the heck out of me when people post that anywhere because newbies see it and take it as the law and rush out and buy a 1 gallon bowl with no filter or heater and then parrot the incorrect information they found on the internet.
"They don't like big tanks it makes them nervouse" Incorrect in the extreame sense of the word check out a rice paddy and see how small it is
"They don't need filters because they can breath air" The labarynth organ is a safety net for when the water level falls in a bettas natural enviroment and the water becomes too foul to be safe for the gills, the labarynth organ allows the betta to survive for a LIMITED amount of time in these conditions, if they didn't breath with their gills then they wouldn't have them would they.
"They don't need a heater look he's fine at room temperature" A betta is a tropical fish, end of. Their ideal temeratures are between 25 and 28 celcius if my memory serves and all my betta tanks sit at a comfey 28. Failure to reach the required temperatures means the betta will become inactive and reach an almost certain untimely death due to a weakend immune systam
Good greif i feel like i'm on myth busters, but seriousely do NOT get in the mind set of believing everything you hear, especially if it is stating that ANY fish likes to be in a cramped,cold and stagnant tank.
Don't even get me started on gold fish.

Do you mean does the 1' height of the tank effect this rule? 3 gallons with the height at 12" still gives you a 8"x8" floor area which I guess isn't ideal but I don't hae any real experience keeping bettas.Ok.
So as we know. Betta's dont like Large amounts of space etc.
Say you had a 6ft tank 6ft across / 4ft width / 1ft high.
And you divived all the tank?
we know betta's can live in 3 gallon spaces? ( Ok i have NO Clue how many times we can divide it )

Calculator says it is a 149 imp gal or 180 us gal tank so you can fit 49 3 imperial gallon sections in and assume the huge amount of divides take up the rest of the room

incorrect. it is for when the dissolved oxygen becomes too low, and it doesnt have a time limit either
