Carmel has been hitting his head on the glass and he does it to much. I am afraid he might get brain damage and go mental or something. Should I put paper over his glass walls or just leave him hitting his head when he sees something move?

Maybe he has hit his head one too many times and has gone mental already   just kidding. In all seriousness i hope he is ok. If my betta was doing that, i think that i would just laugh and leave it be, i mean if hes really in pain i doubt he would do it over and over. My only other thought was maybe the tank is too small, but i am sure that you have a tank with adequate space...i dunno sorry

Good luck,
Drew

Hmm, I was actually thinking the exact same thing. LOL.. and honestly Thinking the fish was mental but I would keep that to meself.. Specially if no one else said it. lol.. BUt yea.. as poopsydrew has stated. Maybe the tank could be small?? or... I don't know.. LOL.. possibly the water stats make him go crazy?????

I would keep an eye on him because that's what SoCal's betta was doing the other day...I wonder why he would do that.

I have a betta that did that when he was in an acrylic tank, he sees his reflection. He is happier in a little small glass tank, since he isn't fighting with himself. The last time he hit it so hard I heard the thud and I was half way across the room. I am thinking of putting a female in his tank, right now it has only snails in it.

That sounds like neural damage behaviour..
Which can be caused by injury, or parasites, or infection..

apart from banging his head..is he acting normally for him? it could be water stats...hope he is ok.

Like liz said is he ok otherwise does he swim funny? does he eat as much as often? is anything else different about him? could be water stats some of my bettas have jumped out there tank cuz they didnt like the water stats. hope he gets well soon!

Other from hitting his head he is fine. I think he sees his reflection.
