I am having real problems with my oscar

His bad temper towards me has calmed down fully now, I can gravel vac and clean the glass without problems and he is back eating perfectly well. I am giving him vitazim (extra vitamin supliments) while he is still recouperating. I checked him this morning and am dismayed to find another little hole has appeared. Its driving me mad now, as soon as one hole heals another appears. I know he is missing he braziliensis friend as he did the famous oscar sulk for a week when she died, I really dont want to add another fish to his tank. Water is spot on with 0 amonia, nitrate & nitrite (daily water changes still) his diet is varied as with the other fish I keep, he has the same diet as my other oscar (different tank) and that one is fine so I know its not diet. This is all down to him stressing. His general behaviour is now normal, his tank is in the kitchen so he gets to see us, me and the kids wave at him and he comes up to the front of the tank and waggs. The HITH is not all over, just in one "spot/patch" at a time which heals and another then appears. I have not used any medication just daily wc, should I use medication as its so little? would medication cause more stress?
