I sold all of my damsels in my 80 gallon, and bought a hippo tang. I've been doin some research and my sources say that they can be kept in a school. Would it be possible to keep 3 in a 80 gallon?

Insanely as it seems, yes you can keep a shoal. I would recommend either only one, or at least four. Be aware that they will likely outgrow an 80 gallon in due time.

Yeah I agree with Lynden. If you're going to keep a group then it should be a bigger group which will need a bigger tank eventually. If you tried to keep a group in an 80gal the limited space would potentially cause more agression. So it could be done but personally I wouldn't advise it.

one of my friends has 3 in his 125 gl, they don't school..but i don't know how many it takes for them to "school" may thke 5-10..i don't know?

but even oin his 125 the hippo's are already starting to out grow his tank, and he has only had them for a few months..

Yeah I bought a baby one at 1 1/2 " and it had nearly trebled in size within 4 months. They grow astonishingly quickly and I will never ever buy a baby tang again with the intention of "getting a bigger tank soon" as it just won't work. I learned this the hard way.
