I've heard my hillstream loach will die if I don't have good oxygen content and good water movement in my tank, which I don't. It's kept on its own with no heater or filter. Could I put it in my 15G tank with a heater set at 24oC? It has a good oxygen flow and a strongish current!

Please reply quick.
Thanks in advance,
Neal

The temperature would probably kill it eventually as they like to be in cold water.

The easiest solution to this would be to buy a small filter; either a disposeable filter, or the new Whisper mini for up to 3g. Better yet, you could also buy a small bubbler to help with the water's oxygen content.
It isn't really fair to keep a fish with high current and oxygen needs in an unfiltered, unoxygenated tank. If you can not improve conditions, you may want to return or rehome him. Also, since your profile says you are looking for more coldwater inhabitants for your 2.5g tank, I feel that I should mention that a tank of such a size is quite inadequate for just about anything but a betta as most coldwater fish are large or social.

Yeah, or the OTHER thread in Coldwater where he's asking what he can keep in an unfiltered 2.5g tank with no oxygenation in addition to the poor hillstream loach who is allready there. =(

An airstone would not be enough. And no, it would not survive in tropical temperatures. I tried it once about 10 years ago because nobody told me that wasn't the right thing for them. It died. You need to get a larger tank with a powerhead or take the fish back to the petstore (if its still alive), or stop asking about it on the forum and let your fish die without upsetting us about it. I've seen you post like three threads about this. The answer is not going to change just because you keep asking it, and you're talking to people who really care about fish. I'm sure you are upsetting quite a few people.
Also, if you do decide to keep it and immediately (like tonight) get a larger tank with proper filtration you'll need to discuss what you are feeding it, as they are not flake eaters and you haven't mentioned diet. It will starve if you're not feeding it properly, even if it is in the proper tank.
