I've read several articles about the effects of high phosphate levels in the aquarium being or not being lethal to fish.
Some say high levels of phosphate can actually be lethal to fish, but others say it absolutly isnt, still others say its not the P04 that directly effects the fish, its the fact that high phosphates can cause algae that in the long run depletes the tank of 02 thus starving some sensitive species of the 02 and subsequently killing off the fish due to low 02 levels.
Does anyone have any credible info on the subject?
I know in my case, my P04 levels range between 2-5ppm in several different tanks and have not had a problem with algae I couldnt take care of, or had any fish loss that I could only blame on P04.
I stumped.
