I have recently been reading about and looking at all the wonderful
things done with plants.

I have another aquarium just setting up and would like to start some
interesting aquascapes.

My water in inherently hard, kh 12, ph 8.5-9.0. Everything is consistant.

My fish always do well. The CO2 content is probably not measurable
according to the table I looked at.

If I add CO2, will it affect the ph or the hardness?

CO2 will bring down your pH, but won't noticeably affect hardness.

Even with hard water you should be able to grow most plants. Decent light, CO2 and other nutrients are more important.
