i removed my jewel internal filter yesterday and now i have a nitrite reading of 1.5 i have alreay done a 25% water change this morning but it hasnt really helped.shall i do another 25% change u think?the temp is nearly back to normal

Do a 50% water change and be prepared to do one daily until the NitrIte comes back down.
Doing a 50% water change right now is a very bad idea. Any dramatic change in the water chemistry, for good or for bad, can be harmful to the fish. I would recomend doing 25% changes atleast twice a day, maybe 3 times. If you don't have any scaleless fish (catfish, loaches, plecos) then you can also add salt to the tank, which will help reduce the nitrite toxicity.

Not doing a 50% water change would be a worse idea, rays are incredibly sensative to nitrogen pollution and even the tiniest trace ammount of nitrite can kill a ray very quickly. Change as much water as you can without letting the temperature drop more than 3 degrees in a day and not below 21c. Keep an eye on the water parameters very closely over the next few days and do corrective water changes when ever nessesary.
