gettin a little concerned now as my nitrites are still high in my new rekord 96 tank had it set up for 9 days now and when i set it up[ i transfered about 80%...whcih is about 8 gallons from my old tank into the new tank and then topped it up with fresh water and since the tank has been showing high levels or nitrite i have been doing a 3 gallon water change every other day to try and cure the problem then i suddenly fort today if its a new tank will it be doing a new cycle as such and when its sorted the nitrites will drop to nothing themselves????

Did you have a high nitrite reading in the last tank?
What do you mean by 'high' levels, can you provide the test results for all other parameters?
Is the tank planted?
Which fish do you have and how many/what size?

Cut down on feeding until the nitrite levels subside.
'Nitra-Zorb' is a teabag-like water treatment designed to trap nitrites, nitrates, and ammonia - 4.99 from Pets at Home. That could be worth a shot to compliment your water changes, etc.
API 'Stress-Zyme' speeds up the biological filter and so may also help. Have you checked that the filter is flowing properly?

nitrite was perfectly fine in my last tank was nothing in there at all and still is as i have it set up now with 7 mollies in.
sorry no can do on any other perameters i realy must get a propper test kit as i only have a nitrite one and yes the tank is planted with 5 different types of plant all growing well but dont know the names of plants as none were labled and sales person was useless at lfs.
