Anna or anyone listening, if you hadn't read my conversation with Natsuko, my blue platy is hiding in the cave constantly, possibly for fear of gettin humped by the male or fear of the CAE who i saw go after my male yesterday when he got in his way...anyway, he's always followin her so she hides in teh cave always and i was starting to worry if she's eating and then today i got her to come out of the cave and it looks like some of her color is faded...should i switch her to one of my empty tanks so she can be by herself or does she just need time to adjust since she's been her for almost a week?

Thanks

Brian

How many males/females do you have?

She should have adjusted by now, if it's been a week, so I'd be more inclined to lean toward the 'Something's wrong' side. Water params? Any signs of sickness?

I plan on changin water soon but had normal levels of everything...other fish seem fine and this platy seems fine too just color kinda faded or maybe i don't remember since she's always in the cave lately....im just afraid she's not eating...i have the other fem platy to the one male but she's the one i thought was prego and is in one of the other tanks... so total in that tank is her + 1 male

I'd move her then. When you have only one female, all of the male's attention and urge to mate goes on her, which can be very stressful. That would be my bet on why she's hiding, she's just trying to get away. She also may not be eating due to stress or fear of the male, so you may be right about that.

I'd say move her.
