Hi all,

I have recently got 3 swordtails in my 33gal tank (has 5 danios already), water stats are perfect (check daily).

one female has hidden since her introduction (2 days) but the others are out and about just fine. she pops out when feed time, takes flake into her mouth and rejects it and hides again!!

is this normal case or being new?

thanks

Dave

Any chance she could be pregnant???
Hi,

suppose it's possible, she would have come in that way (wasn't under MY roof!!) she doesn't look ready to burst, just healthy i would say, can't tell if she has a dark mark as she is half black and half orange, the black being at the back!

is it just a case of wait and see? the non-eating worries me!

Dave

UPDATE: here is a pic of her showing interest in a pea, but not seen her eat any!

give her time i bought a female sword for my daughers tank she was the same for 4days,hiding and not eating try putting some food in after tank lights go out she may be shy,if she is pregnant i dont think shes far gone it is hard to tell,i once had a fish that would not come out for food for almost a week so try not to worry just yet ,im sure she will be fine, nice looking fish btw donna :) .

hi donna,

i think i am too used to my danios, who were crazy and upfront from day 1. I'll give her time, and space!

i think she's lovely, she has green reflections in the right light.

thanks

Dave
