The thing with antibiotics is that most of them can wipe he bacteria colony out.
Tetracycline but check is dosn't wipe the bacteria colony out in the filter.
Maracyn one and two, or maracyn plus.

Thanks - i think he might have it... Had another look at his fins and they do look bit red at base _ not really streaking though. Thanks for the link - will go to fish store tomorrow x

hi, I went to fish store and they gave me eSHa 2000. It seems to have done the trick - his colour is back and he's not hiding any more. Starting to look interested in food again to. I tried the peas and despite my microwaving,cooling, peeling and mashing- the ungrateful fish turned up his fat scaley nose at them... He doesn't like peas evidently Thanks so much for your help - will keep updated x

Lol, try the peas again they do not always eat them the first time around.

HI,
Unfortunatly he died yesterday - well i had to euthanase him - he was upside down and gasping...
Was so upset... Difficult to explain to people how you can get attached to fish if they don't have them. I even buried him..
Thanks to everyone who gave their advice especially Wilder - I really appreciate it - at least I know I did all I could to try and help him. x
