Hide and go seek?

One of my cichlids keeps hiding on me, sometimes for days. I get worried because he doesnt come out for food sometimes. I even went through everything looking for him, moving gravel, and decor yet still couldnt find him. Whyyyy must he torment me? Any ideas?

Well, i dunno. He obviously has found a good hiding place.

Is he a new fish? He may be a little scared and frightened of his new surroundngs.

Really good hiding place. Hes the oldest fish I have...I just get so friggin worried cuz I think somehow my bird magically openned the lid to the tank and ate him or something. ya...Im losing it

Yeah, I only see my peacock cichlids at feeding time....the rest of the time they are hiding behind my rocks....which I guess is a good thing, I mean, they are mbuna....and rocks are where they live right?

He probably got spooked out and went on hiding, moving around your deco and rocks would even make it worst...If he comes up during feeding time then there's nothing you should worry about, just give him some time to get used to you again....BTW is he a matured male?? cause he's probably looking for some spawning spots and usually digging....
