hey everyone the names james

i am 14 and have been saving up for my first tank but im not sure what size i should get and what would be good to start (saltwater, Tropical etc).
I have a budget of around £250 - 300 for all of it thats tank filter light fish plants ornaments the whole lot. Anybody got any good ideas on anything and could send me a link to some good selling aquarium sites.

Always get the largest tank you can afford-they are more versatile. Avoid tall tanks -stick to well known makes so that spares are easily available.

you can get some good deals on ebay for tanks/setups 200l tropical is a good start in my opinion bigger is easier! also welcome

I dont know how big i cango yet because im on holiday and cant measure but im back tommorow so ill check last time i checked i tjhink i could fit a 18 - 20 Gallon in there. but it was £200 plus the stand and thats a big chunk of my money gone. You think that 20 gal is good?

200l is 44 uk gallons you will get a tank that size with all bits for your 200 just be patient and search around! any ideas on stocking yet?

Umm i like Plecs so maybe one of them and i like schools of fishes. Any ideas on what can fit in a 20 gal and what id need for it
