i have a goldfish a yound oranda with finrot an was wandering what meds i need an if it needs 2 b isolated plz help asap

finrot treatment?? anyway, lets try and figure out why your fish has finrot in the first place shall we? WHat size tank is it and are there any other inhabitants? is it filtered?

also some water stats would be useful. when was the last water change you did? finrot is caused by bacteria, something you get a lot of in an unclean aquarium.

go and do a 60% water change, get some meds and start dosing, good luck!

thanks
ill do a water change stright away dont no the tank sise as i got it off my antie it is filterd havent got a test but i plan on 4 when i cycle my hopfully new tank lol. yes there is another inhabitant is a blackmoor the same size but ui only change my water a couple of days ago an i am really sure he cought it on the ornament wich has now beee removed as the fish dont bother each other

How often do you do water changes and how much water do you take on average? Also how often do you clean the substrate in the tank too?

If you measure the length, width and height of the tank i can calculate its gallons for you :) .

For treating finrot, you need to make sure the water quality is very good in the tank and water changes are done regularly, and you need to make sure the tank is very well-oxygenated too. Once you have done a water changes and ensured the tank is well oxygenated (and the warmer your tank is, the more important it is that the tank is well oxygenated), you should treat the tank with an anti-finrot medication. I've found "anti fungus and finrot" by Interpet is a good anti-finrot med, but you do need to make sure the oxygen levels are good in the tank because the med can have a negative effect on the oxygen content on the water (however as said before, it is a very effective anti-finrot med if used properly).
