Hi, I am having major problems with my fish. One of them is sick with nh4 poisening(aka- ammonia poisening) and I don't know how to cure it. Can anyone give me a hand? I am worried.

Hello and welcome to the forum. :hi:

Some more info on your water parameters would help. What are your test results for ammonia and nitrite? How large is the tank? What fish do you have in it? How long have you had it set up? Have you recently added more fish? Sorry for all the questions but the answers will help lead you in the right direction. Since you say he has ammonia poisoning, I assume you already know the level is too high. Do a 25 to 30 percent water change as soon as possible. Continue to do them daily (twice daily if neccesssary) until you can get the ammonia and nitrite levels below .5. I would assume your tank is new and isn't cycled.

On a side note, I see your Group is "Validating". You will need to go to the emailyou received when you registered and click the link to validate your membership. You will then be able to post in all sections, including the emergency section.

PS: Sorry no one has responded sooner. Not a lot of people come to the Newbie section (a shame really that more of our members don't come welcome our new members).

Mhmh, your har to follow up Rdd :/

Hello Rayana, and :hi: to TFF!

Thanx

It's good to be here. I just added a few fish. The one fish didn't make it. Although I think the risk is not as high cause me and my mom just cleaned it a few days ago. The levles are just above .5 but I think its clear. Unless one fish is the problem. then I have just wasted lots of water. heehee. Ayway my tank holds about 6 galons of water. Not a big tank. But it is new. I am new to the whole cleaning and feeding and anything to do with it. If you have any tips I would greatly appreciate it. I am 15 so I don't know much about this stuff. Ive done my reasearch though. And got some dos and don't tips. I also have my dad that is good at anything. Anyway I am really happy to be on the forum.

Well the fish I have in there are these. 2 black lyr tail, 3 Fancy guppies, 2 silver tip, 2 color tetra, 1 algee eater, and a couple of others. But I can't remember what they are. :/

Ruby shark?!? Thats cool. Ummm... You could try isolating it from the other fish and watch it for a few days and see if it acts weird or does something unusual. And if it does then look on line. Google helps. hehe. Have you noticed anything weird lately?
