Hi seany2044,
I'm a newbie too, just joined today as you can see. If you post the measurements of your tank mabye then we could find out if your 30 Gallon tank is really a 30 Gallon Tank.
Good Luck with your cycling tank :)

What fish do you think i should start with? i want some real monster's like some sort of shark or sucker mouth's catfish. No, don't remove the fishes. It will stress them immensely and possibly kill them

To keep your tank clean, change 25% of the water every week. (Replace it with water of the same temp, which has been dechlorinated...) and vac the gravel at the sme time. You can clean off any algae with a toothbrush or a scrapy thing from the lfs.

Remember to turn the tank heater off before you remove water. :/

The fishless cycle is done when you have seen ammonia and nitrite spike, and then decrease to zero, and you have a nitrAte reading. I think this can take around four weeks? Not sure though.

Hi Sean, and welcome aboard! :) Can I just ask you where you got the ammonia for the fishless cycle, as it is quite hard to get here in the UK. Cheers mate :D
