Just thought i'd introduce myself been looking at this site for a few days and it looks great.
Now for some help!! I can't seem to get the nitrite level down i have a reading of 3 which i know is way high, earlier i had a reading of 5 so decided to do a partial water change which dropped it to 3. At the moment i'm treating my tank for whitespot using Waterlife Protazin, could this be the reason for the high level of nitrite. Thanks in advance.

Tank size is 36 lenght 15 width 21 high i think its about 185 litres, using ugf with power head and an internal filter. Fish stock is 2x dwarf gouramis 2x angels 1x golden gourami 10x cardinal tetras 5x neons 2x upside down catfish (small).

I've cut back on feeding from 3 times a day (as instructed on flake food. I know!!!) to just once but not not changed filter media yet will try that next.

How many lph is your filtre? You might want to think about tossing a 2nd small one on to help out. I am running a 55g with two filtres for a 70g tank.

The powerhead is turning out 1022 lph, i don't know about the internal filter as i was givin it so just put it in as a backup.

It's freshwater. About 10 days ago when i did a test everthing was ok. The only thing i've done since then is use a product called cycle which is a biological supplement and the whitespot treatment.
