Should have introduced myself before launching into a question (on the beginner forum). I am a semi-reluctant owner (tank bought as a birthday present for my daughter), but have read a lot in the past week, especially on this site. Seems a lot to take in but looking forward to the challenge of keeping fish.

Welcome to TFF! :) That's how I started years ago, 10 gallon for the daughter. It's a little bit of learning at first, but it's not rocket science.

Hi Tim :hi: to the forum, I to was pushed into fish keeping by my nephew who could no look after his tank it was a small 2ftx1ftx1ft tank with to many fish 1 pleco & 6 Head & tail light fish, so i had to buy a bigger tank 3ftx1ftx18" only to find the pleco is a common which will grow to 2ft long :( Still i've had a load of fun over the past few months and had the help of the forum if things go bad, good luck with your set up.

Hello Tim.

I think alot of us were reluctant at first. My first tank was a housewarming present from my mom when I graduated from college and got my own apartment. I kinda felt obligated to set it up. But I love the tank now. Kudos to you for reading up on things early on.
