Hi! My name is Cheryl and I just happened to come across this sight and thought it would me neat to talk to people that are breeding fish or just like them. I just bought 2 new fish yesterday and one was pg. I got them home and the female, within 4 hours, had her fry. I am enjoying them very much.

what kind of fish?

Swordtails, guppies, mollies? Those are some common live bearers. A pic. would be helpful.

Good luck!

If you can't figure out what they are, I'll eat them for u. :S

they are fancy guppies. I have them in a 10 gallon tank and then I have a 55 gallon tank with one angel fish, 2 black skirt tetras, 2 bala sharks, 2 irredesent sharks, and 2 algea eaters. I also have an algea eater in the 10 gallon. I also have another 10 gallon tank with a salamader in it. I also have 2 betas in a breeding container. Right now I have the divider in it so they can get used to each other. Also I was told that you can feed fry hard boiled eggs smashed up in water for good protein. Is this true?

Hello There Cheryl! Welcome to the forum :) !
Glad to see a new comer who is excited about the hobby. Hopefully you'll find the people here friendly and fun and even a little silly lol  because we all try to be that way! I hope your off to a good start with this hobby and no matter what happens don't get discouraged! When I first got into fish I bought a Molly and it was preganant and had 16 babies :S . Sadly they all died :( but I learned from that brief experience! Everyone here is glad to help with whatever you need and I hope you start to feel right at home!

Have Fun!
-Bunny ^_^

thank you for the encouragement. I have had fish now for about 2 years and I try to get a good variety to make it all fun.
