Hi everyone, My name's Steve and I've had my 7 gallon tank for 2 months now, and everything's fine.(cycled nicely and fish seem happy ) Now I wanna get a nice sized tank and was wondering what you guys thought of this package. Here. My main concern is the filter,should I go for the Fluval 304 instead.? I wanna keep a pair of silver sharks, some gouramis, a few clown loachs and a bristle nose plec to keep the tank clean. Any thoughts from you guys would be much appreciated. Thanks, Steve.

Hi Steve,

I have the Fluval Duo 1000. I found these tanks to be built very well. in my package i had the fluval 3 plus internal filter. Altough this filter seemed to work very well, i upgraded to an external eheim 2213 classic through personal preference. Generally though i did like the filter that came with it and is much better than some others ive used. thumbs up on the tank package mate, it comes with everything you need to get started !!

Looks like a nice tank, is it about 190litres?

I don't think a tank of that size will be big enough for balas. They get to about a foot and really need a 7ft tank. Not sure about clown loaches either as they get to 8" albeit slowly, saw an 11" one recently.

Fluval 4+ should be fine for tanks between 130 and 215 litres. Not sure though, it will depend in things like stocking, maintenence etc.
