I just thought that I'd introduce myself. I'm new to the hobby of keeping tropical fish and would like to know about other people's experiences.

I've got a 27 gallon tank with
1Angel fish
1 grourami
2 red tetras
1 silver dollar
1 Marble Molly

I'd like to hear the input of more experienced hobbyists on my fish. I don't know as much as I'd like to about them and I am interested in knowing more.

Let me be the first to welcome you to TFF, Fishtailedlady :)

You have a nice selection of fish

Thanks for your respones I love my silver Dollar fish. It has doubled in size in two months. He is very colorful in the tank.

Silver Dollars get BIG, and the Angel will eventually pick off your Tetras once it's big enough (Tetras are their natural food in the wild), and maybe the Molly. What kind of Gourami do you have?

The Silver Dollar also does better in groups of 3-5 or more, and just one will eventually outgrow your tank.

Don't take that the wrong way, I'm just trying to be helpful and hopefully save you some pain and expenses down the line. You may want to invest in a 50 or larger gallon aquarium and buy 3-4 new Silver Dollars to go with it. While more expensive, it will definitely be worth it to see them swimming together. :)

Good to see you here - lots of good people and friendly advice (and vice versa :D )

Welcome.I am also new to fishkeeping and have already found it is habit forming.I started with a single fish in a bowl. Now I have the bowl, two tanks that I wish were bigger, and I'm looking at my living room couch and thinking a 55g tank would be a better use of the space :D

You'll find this is a wonderful place to get info and just hang with fellow fish lovers :)
