Hi,, i now this sounds silly but i have had a tank for 3 months now,,,, i have 2 what the man in shop said were zebra fish and apparently the same sex,, but i have noticed that one is really fat and that they go into the plants together side by side and seem to shudder against each other,,, are they mating or is one a female and ready to give birth?? sorry for being 'a bit dumb' but hey i am a newbie lol

Hey welcome to the forum! I would post this info on Tropical Chit Chat, you will get a lot more answers! I think that the rounder zebra could be a female mating with the male , but i am not the expert with these fish, so I would place it on the Tropical Chit Chat. I hope you get your info straight!

Hi thank you for the replies you have been so helpful,,, i eventually found out I have actually got Tiger Barbs,, and at the moment the 'fat' on hides a lot,, i have decided to get a birthing net,, it is a bit difficult as I am English living in Germany and find it hard finding the right stuff i need,,,once again thank you for the replies
