I have kept tropical fish now for over a year and thought i'd finally sign up to a forum to discuss things as i've always got questions on my mind regarding my tank!

Thought i'd post a rubbish picture from my iPhone to show you my tank, sorry for the quality.

its a jewel rio 180 I have a fluval u4 and a external fluval 105 filter my air bubble machine has packed in though.

Just in Huyton, is it not overkill to have both internal and external filters?

IMO yes, it's overkill unless you have a really big tank's or are very overstocked
