Hi all, just a quick hello really as I've been a long time lurker!

Currently using a Rekord 60 58L tank to house 2 Orange Tuxedo Platys and 2 Panda Corys.

The tank has been running for about 4 years now so I've lost a lot of the originals and neglected to replace them. However I've now moved the tank from the spare bedroom to my own bedroom and as its getting a lot more attention I've this week changed out the gravel substrate to sand and have replaced the crappy internal with a brand new Eheim 2213 external filter (bit overkill but hey the more filtration the better right?).

All four fish seem to be doing well and all water measurements read great too. I'm going to introduce a few more fish to get my levels back to max. Have decided on four more Panda Corys to bring the total to 6. 4 more similar coloured Platys to bring the total to 6 and then 2 or 3 Red Cherry Shrimp to have something different. Probably reaching my max at about 12 fish and 2/3 shrimp but might get 3 or 4 fish of something small as well when I can decide on something suitable.

Anyway look forward to getting involved on the forums and I'll try not to post too much crap :D

Welcome, Jonny! You're off to a good start already, and it looks like your stocking plans are good as well. How about posting some photos of your tank?

Welcome to the forum! :good: Just a little advice, if you don't want to be over run with platys, stick to either all males or all females.

Thanks for the welcome :thanks: glad to see I'm not getting ahead of myself in regards to stocking! Pics will come asap, it looks a little baron in there at the moment though, I'm planning on getting some more plastics in there this week to liven it up a bit (I cant deal with the headaches of live plants as well as live fish :p )

Thanks for the advice Colleen, I have been told this before so will trust that my LFS knows what they're giving me when I ask. Will the corys not go for the frys as they omnivores? Or can they only be so hungry lol I am planning on introducting some frozen blood worms to the tank - one cube a week - for the first time, so I'm hoping that will 'wet their appetite' (see what I did there...) :ninja:

If the fry have hiding places, a few may survive. My cories never ate my fry, but I had lots of hiding places. Good luck.
