Hello, I'm back after a brief period away from the forum, not sure if you remember me. Spent some time out due to a rethink about my fishroom because of rising electricity costs and sudden lack of enthusiasm for my fish after losing my favorite one, it got to be an obsession that however many tanks it would never be enough but had difficulty finding time to manage them, felt i needed a break from them for a while. I have now cut back on some tanks, sadly got rid of my Madagascan cichlids as i could not find a replacement for the paratilapia i lost (will never give up hope of aquiring some more one day) also got rid of my malawi's and some discus.
Now i just have a cental amerian cichlid tank and a community that i want to change over to discus again.
so i am back full of enthusiasm and can't wait to get back into Discus and dwarf cichlids. Sometime a little break is all you need.
This where i will need your help as my way of fishkeeping is very old school, i'm a stick with what you know person. But have aquired a 5ft tank with a sump which is totally alien to me. Are they cheaper to run or worth the hassel with tropicals. I'll ask the questions about setting it up later unless someone knows a good link for me
Regards Jo

Beautiful discus! I've been in the hobby for almost 42 years. I too got discouraged when my favorite fish died for no apparent reason (discus). I will soon be trying to set up another discus tank. Hope all goes well for you and me. Welcome to the forum! :good:

Welcome back! :good:

Yes, I remember you, the name looked a bit out of place in the Welcome To TFF section!

thank you . i don't own the fish in my signiture anymore so i must replace the photo's with my present fish, they are why i must get back to Discus keeping, hoping to get some more of similar quality if i can
