Hi folks. My name is Lisa and I've joined this forum, for a few different reasons, which I'll get into on another thread. I love keeping fish and have gotten really interested in them over the last few years, ever since I got my kids at work a goldfish (Gill) which I have managed to keep alive for 2.5 years in their classroom! :good:

At home I have a blue VT betta called Smurf and he "rooms" with a corydoras catfish called Mog.

That's me. :)

Hi Lisa!

2.5 years is actually very young for a goldfish so you should have a long time with him still! They can live for 20-30 years, depending on care and their variety.

Hi. Thanks for the welcome. :) I'm just surprised Gill has lived this long, given that I was a total novice with him AND he lives in a room full of screaming 2 year olds! :D

how big is the tank? common goldfish need a 55g tank. abck when i first started i used to have a pair goldfish in a 54l with no filter that used to be my mums and they died when they where 20 years old. they died within a few days of eachother. they evan spawned a few times.
