Its great to become a member of a Tropical Fish Forum and hopefully learn and share with other members.
I started out as a reluctant Goldfish Keeper after inheriting four fish from a relative and then the hobby just grew.
Now five years later and with the Goldfish safely in my pond, I am trying my hand at Tropical Fish keeping hence joining the forum.
I aim to take it slowly with a planted community tank and see how I get on.

I'm glad you like my Tank, thanks for the thumbs up. Its still in its infancy and I will hopefully replace the few Silk plants with more real plants as I go along. I love the Guppies having lots of space to swim and I am hoping I wont get carried away and keep adding too many fish although its so tempting. Since starting the Tropical Tank I feel like there is so much to consider like water parameters and various conditions that different fish live in like PH and how to address the Nitrates in my Tap water etc etc etc and there seems to be so many conflicting advice online I must admit its made my head spin, so any newbie advice would be very welcome. Like I said I aim to take it slowly and with some help hopefully avoid any silly mistakes.

Hi and :hi: to the forum! :D

Tank looks lovely! And you've done really well to keep the stocking light as you're learning, it's so common for people to overstock because we all want all of the fish! But then disaster often happens. Keeping the stocking light, at least until you know how to manage the water parameters, is always best. :)

There really is so much to learn, the learning curve when you first join the hobby is so steep, and confusing when there's so much conflicting advice and plenty of misinformation out there.

I found these videos useful to learn the nitrogen cycle, which helps a lot, and the second video helpful for understanding GH, KH and pH. You're always welcome to post questions too!
