Nice fish welcome to the forum :)

thanks very much

my swordtail female died this morning :( i forgot to add it

going to get the water tested tomorrow dont think theres anything wrong with the tank the rest seem fine but better safe than sorry :)

yeah definitely better to be on the safe side and get your water tested. if you can, you should get your own test kit. i would recommend the liquid test kits as strips are notoriously unreliable! i like the API Master Kit or the Nutrafin Mini Master. you would be able to get these for around £20 and they last for a while. if you get one, use only half the amount of water it tells you to test. this way you only need to use half the number of drops from the test bottles and the ones you use more often (eg ammonia) will last twice as long!!

glad you were able to find a pic of the chinese algae eater. 'sucking loach' is used quite often to describe these!!

3 questions,
what interpet PF is that?

why is the tank only half full?

and why have you got a marbled sailfin plecostomus in a 125 litre tank when it grows to 50cm and will out poop your filter in a minute

It's only small and theres always room for a upgrade. but yes. it should have a bigger tank but thats a bit rich coming from me.
