Hi everyone! I've only seriously started fishkeeping for about 1/2 a year, so you could say I was new to fishkeeping still. When I was a child, I used to get my parents to by comet goldfish and keep them in a glass bowl for me although unknown to me, they would keep dying in a month ( my parents bought a new fish before I could even notice ). I now know that there is a lot more about fish that I know and try to keep up with their expectations and needs.

I have to admit this though, I got my 10 gallon tank in September. Then, I got a dog in December. The story just goes downhill from there. With my new puppy ( adopted from an animal shelter ), I started caring less about my tank. Slowly, the fishes' tank grew algae and the ammonia levels brought new all time highs. ... Until a week ago. I noticed how my tank was deteroriating so badly and felt soooo so bad about just letting the poor fishies die in that messed up tank. Though one neon tetra died, the four others and the dwarf gourami were still alive. So yesterday I went out to buy new plants for them, beneficial bacteria stuff and cleaned the tank.

I have joined this forum so I can learn about how to revive the tank and treat fishies like how they are supposed to be treated once again. I hope you guys will accept my apology to my wrongdoings.
