Hi. Just found this forums when I was searching for some stuff about keeping fish - Excellent forums .

Bought my first tank a over a week ago (its a Rekord 70 - 70 litres,18 US Gallons) and its now cycling with 6 red eye tetras.

I am not sure about red tetras, but cycling with neon tetras is not a good idea.

done some reading up on it and they seem okay for cycling (other than the fact that they spend most of their time hiding)
