Hi people iv been recommended here by some people. Basicly iv been looking at a tropical fish tank for quite a while now and been watching this forum. Iv been keeping pond fish of different sorts and sizes for about 6-8 years, but i still have lots of questions for the experts. :D

Today i bought a corner tank (2nd hand, was a bargin) Iv checked it all and doesnt seem to leak etc. I got some stuff with it but i think im just going to use the tank and start afresh. Now First question is it possiable to buy seperate mouldings for tanks. ie atm the tank has a black plastic moulding on the top and bottom. I was looking at something newer maybe a wooden look? Second question am i right in thinking it is possiable to have sand rather than gravel in a tropical tank?

thanx all and hello

Brad

Hi Brad and :hi: to TFF!

Don't know about the mouldings, sorry.

Yep, sand is commonly used in tropical aquariums. In fact, we did a poll recently and more people prefer sand than gravel.

I am sure you'll enjoy it here!

hi, thanx for the welcome. Il have to look into the mouldings. hoping to get all the hard ware this weekend. Hopefully get the plants etc just need to work out what fish im going to have and what sort of plants and stones etc they would like :S seems to be the hard bit.
