hey all
ive just made an account so id thought id say hi
ive been looking for a good fish forum for ages so i hope this one is good =p

so far i like what i see

anyway ive had my aquarium for about a year and have recently re done it
i have
guppies
neon
platies
and 2 algea eaters

guppies and platies are amazing looking things arnt they?

to the forum, nice selection of fish too, any idea on what the algae eaters are?

Looking at my book on tropical fish

it says they are 'algae eaters'
latin is (get ready) Gyrinocheilus aymonieri
saying that i just searched that name in google
and it seems they are Chinese algae eaters

so yer

keep an eye on them then, they tend to get aggressive and stop eating algae when they mature

when do they mature?
what do u mean aggressive?
to other fish?
or each other?

both, i have heard of them removing the slim coat of some fish and even there eyes, although i had one and he was fine but was kept with all faster swimming fish like tetras and such, larger and deeper bodied fish like angelfish tend to be targets for them
