hey im steve and new here at this forum. im going to be setting up a guppy tank this summer with live plants and everthing, its gunna be pretty sweet. anyway iv had guppys b4 and i userally just fed them fish flakes. but throgh chat with other guppy owners and breeders iv heard that guppys can also be fed finely ground vegtables such as pease and corn. iv also heard people say they feed their guppys on maquito larva as well. they all fed their fish these things with the addition of fish flakes and said it made their fish happier and healthier. im no expert but it souds a little fishy. is this healthy to do or is it tru at all?

Peas, yes, believe it or not. Just remove the shell from the pea first.

It's best to use a varied diet. I personally feed my fish one type of entree per day. The next day, larvae, the next brine shrimp, then flakes... you know. Just keep them interested.

ok that makes sence. i knew the pea thing was probably tru but masqito larve? is that healthy?

yes lol mosquito larva is healthy for any fish, because that is what they would eat in the wild anyways. its nutricious for them as well, not too many places sell them though. petco does something, actually fruit fly larvae

My Mum and Dad (in laws In the UK) Keeps Gold fish in their kitchen and Tropical Fish in the living room.. they feed their fish peas and they are so big!! the gold fish will come to the top for anyone if they have peas... they feed them different kinds of worms to, not sure what kind though. but some of them make me sick to look at them. I have these little beetle bugs come in my window through the screen they get in the tank... since I got the fish I haven't seen them in the water lol is it ok for them to eat them
