Hey, my name is Neal and i'm 13 years old, I come from the north east of England, near Middlesboro. I currently own a male betta VT, and two black moors, I have a two gallon tank, a three gallon tank, a 0.5litre cube and lots of accesories! I am currently planning on either dividing my 2G tank and buying a female, or buying another 2G tank to put my female in, and re-homing my black moors in a pond, then i'm going to use my 3G as a spawning tank for my bettas! :)
I have never bred fish before and I have only owned goldfish, so I don't have much experience but this forum is providing me with an extreme ammount of very useful and detailed information! If I hadn't found this forum and had gone ahead and tried to breed bettas, I would be stuck with about 50 bettas in a 2G tank, wich is very un-healthy for them!

Hi Neal
Welcome to the forums
If I was you Id just enjoy keeping fish for a while before trying to breed bettas.Breeding fighters sounds a lot more fun than it actually is.
Good luck anyway :)

Hi Neal :hi: to the forum, good luck with the betas lovely fish. Put a post in the betas section theres bound to be loads of help on careing and breeding for them there :D

I have now decided not to breed bettas, but to keep my betta in my tank and keep him on his own, and i'm going to ask my brother if I can have his tank that he is not using, and use it as a community tank.

I've now decided to buy a new tank and use that as a community tank. I think it's a 4 UKG, I won't be putting much in it though. Maybe a few tetras and a small pleco and maybe some platys, depending on whats recommended...

Try and get as big a tank as you can afford.A 4g tank is going to be too small to use as a community tank,
If you can stretch even to a 10g tank it will give you more choice in fish :)

I don't have the space... If I got a ten gallon it would have to go downstairs, and I never really go downstairs. My bedroom is very small so i'm limited to the tank size. I'm a newbie keeping tropical fish anyway, so only a couple of fish will do me. :)
