Just wanted to say hello. my name is Justin.. and Fish keeping is my second Hobby.

I currently have a 55gal Piranha tank with 5 red bellies couple plants...

and a small 2.5gal tank that Im keeping my Beta in.. and he is one of the main reasons im here.

My first hobby would be my car.. but hey im here for the fish..

Well, im having a probelm..

My Betas stomach has been swollen for 4 days. I had him in a bowl. (plastic) he was in BAD need of a water change. but I had bought a tank 2.5gal with a light and filter. and was gonna set that up for him.

When I went to get him out the thermo read something like 60*F give or take a little. which is WAY cold.

Well I read that below a certain * they cannot digest food. I dunno how long he had been that way.

but now he is bloated and swelled up fit to bust.

waters fine. right were everything needs to be. im using the aqua / terta care stuff as directed..

he is currently in the 2.5 gal filter/lighted tank unlike before when he was in a bowl that was very small.

he was fine when I dropped him in he new tank but his stomach began to grow very large and now im worried Im gonna lose him. Ive had him for a year now.

He is basically floating at the top. near the side. sometimes his fins are moving. but rarely. he gets a little air from time to time. and will move a little but thats it. his fins/gills are fin and scales are good he dosent have droopsy or w/e where they get sharp scales..

Sounds like he has Swimbladder, which is caused by a build up of gases.
You can try feeding him a cooked pea as this helps with constipation/being bloated. Cook a frozen pea, remove the shell, mush it between your fingers and drop it into his bowl. You can also try Daphnia which will have the same effect.
What temp. is the water at in his new bowl?

79* F where can I get Daphnia? I hate seeing him like this.

OH, and I tried posting this in the Emergency Section, but everytime I click new topic I get a Internet Explorer Error and it closes out.

You should be able to get some Daphnia from your lfs, they sell it in frozen cubes so you just need to defrost it before putting it in your tank.
Your temperature is fine, that's pretty much what I keep my Bettas at.
