hey guys can anybody tell me if you can breed gold fish if u can how or is it the same as breeding aqurium fish

gold fish are aquarium fish! do you think they only need a bowl?
Because they need a good sized tank (50L +) and proper filtration, by filtration i mean a filter with filter pads and media to house bacteria.
they preffer moderatly hard water (10-15 GH) with a slightly alkaline PH (7-7.5)
i hope you understand goldfish and dont think that they are easy, just because there cheep doesn't make them easy fish. they are one of the hardest fish to look after.
im assuming most of this from your word order, but its always a good thing to get extra information on the fish you have.

im sorry i don't know how to breed goldfish but im sure someone will post with the answer

Lol now that rant is over

if you want to breed goldfish then you will need at least a 30g aquarium, (a pond is even better)
- both fish need to be at least 3 years old, (mature males have white pimples on their gills and females are much more rounder bodied).
- you need to keep a constant temperature of around 64F in the tank for around 12-16weeks
- at the end of this time very gradually increase the temp to around 74F
- this warming of the water can trigger the goldfish to breed, (seen in ponds in spring when the water is naturally increasing in temperature after the winter)

I wouldn't reccomend breeding goldfish if you are a beginner, the eggs will need to be removed to another tank and it is not the easiest of tasks in raising these fish. If you are looking to breed fish however i would look at one of the livebearers species,

hope that helps

hehe i do rant a bit, just a tincy weiny bit
