I noticed my Betta has pin holes and one split and now more pin holes are appearing. I am gonna buy some finrot medication today. My main concern is the fact that I have two african dwarf frogs in there and a snail. I could transfer the snail to my larger tank and possibly the frogs if I had to but I worry in that tank they wouldn't get enough to eat with the other fish eating everything.

When you treat with the medication how long have you gotta do it for? Also does it stay in the filter? I basically don't want my frogs dying if I leave them in there. Or if I take them out when will it be safe to put them back in?

Or would you take the Betta out? I have a spare heater and I suppose he could go in a container of some sort? Maybe clean it daily? Any suggestions would be appreciiated. I wanna nip this finrot in the bud as I can see it getting worse.

A guide of what to do from anyone who's been through this would be great. Thinking on it I would rather pop him in a container of some sort and put the spare heater in there and treat that way. Can anyone advise me what to do. How long to treat for etc. I am gonna get interpet fungus and finrot treatment.

What could I use for a container? Any ideas? I have a bucket.

Also do I just fill it with fresh tap water that's been declorinated? Put the heater in get it to a nice steady temp and put my Betta in? then medicate and clean it daily?

I'm going out now to get the stuff so if I don't reply that's why. I'll check back when I get in.

I'd say move the frogs & snail, seeing as any stress could make his finrot worse. Check your medication first, though, and check whether is can be used with frogs and snails in the tank, too.
Then, just do as it says on the bottle, and hopefully your betta will heal up nicely :good:

You think just move em to my other tank. Yeah it would be less hassle. I can put them back in after he's better.

I think I'll do that and also take out the decoration in the betta tank do you think? leave it bare and medicate.

the best cure gor finrot i have found is daily water changes, clean water does miracles for finnage
