Hi everyone just thought i would introduce myself and my platies! i have seven platies, one sucking loach and one platy fry, have had a tough time of it recently! 1 one my original platies died due to stress, a very upsetting time as he was my only sunburst platy and the only one i have seen of his beautiful pattern and colouring, i have then had to give up two more as they were becoming aggressive so now i have two replacements beautiful white calico platies. I also have one blue mickey mouse platy who is currently pregnant, one red hi-finned mickey mouse platy and two gold tuxedo platies, all very beautiful!

I am really looking forward to being part of this forum!! enjoy speaking to you all and i hope i can share my knowledge with you! Unfortunatly Platies are my only area of expertiese but i hope to learn off you all in different areas!

:hi: to the forum, platy's are great fish, although i haven't had them for a while, how bigs the setup and how many male/female do you have?

I have a 27 litre tank, and one male to five females as when i had two males they didnt get on very well! he was one of the ones i had to get rid of due to aggression, little devil he was!

27l is aprox 7 US gal, you will need to upgrade them, but for now they should be fine as long as you keep up with maintainance :good:

They have plenty of room at the mo they are all pretty small platies but i am thinking of getting a bigger tank in the future as i just am such a great fan of them!!! Can anyone recommend a tester kit for ammonia?? im trying to find the best one

API master kits are highly recommended on here, and they test everything, may seem expensive but works out cheaper in the long run :good: glad to hear about the plan to upgrade, what size you thinking of getting?
