Howdy.

New to the forums and new to tropical fish in general. Not really mine (my dads) but im an admirer and chose some of them. Im just wondering if people can help me, im from the UK and bought all the fish from Pets at Home and dont know the proper names of my fish (if they have any).

We have:
  • Ten Rosey Rasbora's? Just found out within the last half an hour that theres 5 baby ones came from no-where lol?
  • Two male Gourami's - mainly blue, red tipped?
  • Three Dalmation Molly's, did have four but one of them died recently due to the tank conditions. Mainly black with white spots
  • Two Neon Tetras, did have six of them but three of them died and one disappeared within the first four days of getting the tank
  • One Plec, its browny black. Not entirely what type, likes to hide alot though lol.
I havent got a picture of the Molly's yet because theyre crafty, they stay still right until the camera is going to take the picture...then swim off. The Rasboras are hard to get a picture of because as soon as you go near the tank they swim to the other side. The tetras are common so you know what they look like (red blue). But heres a picture of the Gourami's and a bad pic of the Plec (click to enlarge):

Anyways hello and i hope to hang around these forums.
Cya :)

:hi: to TFF! You'll have lots of help to I.D. your fish.
Btw looks like a blue gourami.
How big is your tank?
I suggest you get more tetras.
Never heard of a rosy rasbora. Maybe a rosy barb?

Well theyre definately Rasboras, they look similar to the ones in a book my dad bought, but a different colour.

We did have six tetras, which were the first arrivals to the tank, but one died after a couple of days, then one disappeared the next day, and then two died on the following day. Since adding the Rasbora's the Tetras have been more lively.

Tank is 190L with three small live plants (growing) and three plastic ones, along with a few ornaments such as logs etc:

PS. Ignore water level of the tank, were busy cleaning it out then.

well, it would really help if you got a pic.
Are they harlequin rasboras
Many books are outdated and give the wrong info.

I'l get some pictures tomorow as the lights are off on the tank atm.

PS. Do Plecs become more active at night? Iv just seen it swimming along the back panel - something iv never seen. My Plec seems lazy it doesnt move often lol, compared to the ones in the shop.
