Hi all...i'm new to the sight...so I have a large 55 tropical tank..a few of the fish are showing signs of what I think is Heximita. Such as white stringy poop, and so far, only in my 3 spot gourami, major weight loss even though she's been eating. Any suggestions i can get would be greatly appreciated. I live in a very small town where the closest fish store is sixty miles. I have a friend coming into town tomorrow bringing me anti-parasite food to hopefully treat it..Should I have him get anything else as well before he arrives? Thank you!!

Hi.

You are on the right track, Internal Parasites. If I were you I would also get an anti-parasitic medication for the water in case the fish don't like the food. Treat full dose and for the full term so these things don't come back.

Good luck

You may also want to consider a new food. New Life Spectrum Thera+A has enough garlic to kill some parasites and I have seen many cases where it was all that was needed to treat different problems (internal and external parasites). I feed it exclusively all the time and cannot remember the last time I had to deal with any health problems in my fish.

Awesome thanks so much for the advice...one more question..is it contagious to the other fish? If one has it should i assume the rest do?

got the food today, and they seem to like it...hopefully in seven to ten day's i'll see a difference..thanks for the help!!! :)
