I won't class this as an emergency as everyone is stable but I am after some advice.
My female Gold Ram has been off colour for months. She has gone very thin and generally wasn't happy in my display tank. I have also observed other fish in my DT with stringy white poo.
I assumed this was probably an internal parasite problem and have treated the whole tank with Kusuri Wormer several times. I have also treated with food soaked in water and fenbendazole.
I now have the female ram in a little hospital tank. She has looked like she is about to croak for several months now but is looking a little better now she is away from the male Ram. She has been in hospital for about 2 months now but still isn't showing signs of putting on weight. I have used both of the treatments above in the hospital tank as well.
I've been reading up more and looking into it further - as she hasn't got any better and some fish in the main tank still pass white poo - and I now believe it is probably hexamita. I have luckily sourced some metronidazole which should be here in a couple of weeks. My question is this - how do I go about treating the female ram and my display tank to get rid of the Hexamita for good?
