Last night I put the girl in the cup and put her in the tank again, stress stripes for about a minute, and then faint vertical bars... he started biting the cup away that she was in so I took her out after I found out my apple snail was eating my plant... Hmm! So anyway, I took her out and he started blowing bubbles and created a nest about the size of a penny, I had to turn the lights off and when I woke up, it had decreased. :shout: But now he's building it back up to penny size, now to quater size, and he's still going. :p

Now it's about the size of two quarters.... ------------------------------- long or so.

I love watching my males work on their bubble nests. One of my males is so self-conscious that if he sees me watching him, he stops working on it and swims away. It's so funny to watch them; I love it :p

my delta is the best nester ever he has a lovely thick one all the while. when I clean them out I try to put their nests back in or a bit of it anyway. A couple of them are hopeless they just have bubbles all over the top of the tank not stuck together just dotted about.

It's now twice or three times the size of him; 3 or 4 quarters.

Yeah, he'll look at me kinda bug-eyed like he's telling me to mind my own buisness and continue building.
Fortunately he's in the ten gallon so I won't have to do a water change anytime soon.

Can he see a female? If he can, expect the next to be about half the surface are of the 10G :p The nest one of my boys built when he was in a divided 20G with some pretty girls (lol) was HUGE. Like, seriously, half the area of the 10G section he was in xD

Yup, the girl is in the tank beside him 24/7. :p It's in a styrofoam cup though, so I don't know if he'll take it out of the cup.. but now I can't turn the bubbler on, lol. :S

My bettas never liked bubblers anyway, so don't worry :p

I never put styrofoam cups in my tanks anymore--my boys won't use them. You could probably take it out if you wanted, but leaving it in isn't bad either :p

But it has live plants. :shout: Although it's just java fern & hornwort so I suppose I don't need to worry.
