He's Fat!

Would it be bad to breed my fat male? He's pretty chubby, so I'm thinking it would be good for him to get some excersize while spawning and go without food for a while. I just want to know if it would be a bad idea for some reason. The female is well conditioned and ready to breed, she's not a problem.

Betta food. That's not my question. But nevermind. I got it.

Is would say let him spawn and then feed him, until after he is done taking care of the babies. Then let him go on a diet, but dont stop feeding altogether. It could be bloat maybe. Could you post a pic, the only reason i am thinking it could be bloat, is for the pst 10 years, i have never had a fat fish.
