Hermit Crab Shells

Could I use some Hermit Crab Shells I order off of the internet to use for the multies I plan on setting up a tank for? Thank you for your sadvise. Oh and I read that males will be fine together of this species, is this true?

Just make sure there aren't too many bends in the shell where the fish can get stuck, escargot shells (can be found online or in a fine foods shop) are what most people use.

I'm not really sure if multiple males will get along or not, I know they are prolific breeders so unless you have a large tank, you'll probably want to start with 1m/2+f.
