Heres My New Tank/aquarium Inc Fishes.....(Video)

Good to see you are taking advice and sorting out your stocking. Many people dont take good advice though sometimes I dont blame them because of the way more experianced fishkeepers put them down with thier harsh tones and big headedness. They often forget they were beginners once.

Though I would strongly advise you to take back the crabs. They are wholey unsuited to your setup and actually should be kept in a sightly brackish tank with plenty of wood/rocks above the water to allow them to get out and walk around. In a normal setup they will do anthing to escape. Back in my novice days I purchased a couple and one managed to squeeze through the tiniest gap in the hood to its death(I actually stood on it one morning) and the other began grabbing my slower bottom feeders so it went back to the shop. I would actually like to keep them in a proper setup one day/

Here is a pitcure of a good red claw crab setup.

Also are you adding CO2? Hairgrass doesnt usually last very long without it and regular doses of ferts.

Yeah i didnt want to take advice given but its for the best. You cant just put anything in a tank thats colourful and hope for the best. I found that out luckily thanks to this forum, as i had NO IDEA WHAT SO EVER. The reason ive kept the crabs is because they have not tried to attack any fish and sometimes fish can be 20mm from them and the crabs tend to run off. I know they need air and for now when i do water changes i let them out for half hour. I also know there fantastic escape artists and they can climb up my heater no problem right to the top, i have glass shutter at the top then the lid so they have 2 doors to get past if they did get out. Im seriously thinking about a small tank setup for these as ive grown on them.

As for the hairgrass i was told its a easy plant to have and will not need co2? just medium lighting. I dont have a co2 system and dont intend to do that. I just want some easy plants that only rely on light really.

Thats an excellent idea, I think a wee crab community would work great.

Hairgrass is a funny one and seems to be hit or miss. With regular lighting and no CO2/ferts it will grow as long as it gets established though it will grow very slowly and not form a dense carpet. It does need medium to high lighing to stay nice and lush green. Maybe ask about it in the plants section and see if you anyone can give you tips. I'm thinking about getting some more too.
