Good to see you are taking advice and sorting out your stocking. Many people dont take good advice though sometimes I dont blame them because of the way more experianced fishkeepers put them down with thier harsh tones and big headedness. They often forget they were beginners once.
Though I would strongly advise you to take back the crabs. They are wholey unsuited to your setup and actually should be kept in a sightly brackish tank with plenty of wood/rocks above the water to allow them to get out and walk around. In a normal setup they will do anthing to escape. Back in my novice days I purchased a couple and one managed to squeeze through the tiniest gap in the hood to its death(I actually stood on it one morning) and the other began grabbing my slower bottom feeders so it went back to the shop. I would actually like to keep them in a proper setup one day/

Also are you adding CO2? Hairgrass doesnt usually last very long without it and regular doses of ferts.
