I am going to breed in a 3 gallon since I am getting Puffers for my 5 gallon tank. I am breeding Aug 17, In a 3 gallon. What do you guys think?

wayyy to small. you will need atleast a 30 and lots of small tanks for the fry. im using a 10g, 20g and jars.

3 gallon is my spawning tank! I spawned once good in a 5 gallon but I had no food for the fry.

i wouldn't do it in anything less than a 5 gallon. 3 is pushing it. they need a bit more room than that and the more water, the more constant the conditions

Not really. Big breeders (like Cracker) breed in small 1-2 gallon tubs, so 3 gallons is fine imo. Well, if the male isn't so agressive, since the female needs to get away. Of course, you'll need a 20 gal or bigger growout tank.

you cant get fry then get grow out tanks... they need to cycle for 6-8 weeks just like any other tank.

That sounds "PERFECTO" for spawning bettas, i am planning on spaewning in a 2.5 gal. asap.

from what ive read it would be fine but im worrieng about the fry and what they are going to be in.

he does if he is going to add 100 fry at once into it when no other fish have been in there.

You pretty much don't need to cycle it. Fry don't produce much waste, even 100 fry. With regular water changes they'll be fine.

 Your grow out tank for your fry doesn't even have to be filtered, let alone cycled. Keep up on water changes and you'll be fine. I think a 3 gallon will work ok for spawning if the fish cooperate. It might be a bit harder to regulate the temp in that small of a tank, do you have a junior heater for it?

come on guys have you been reading these boards? this guy has lost over 20 goldfish and countless rosey red minnows in the past 3 days. doesnt sound like he does 2 much maintness or reserching fish before he houses them.

The Rosey Red came with the goldfish!

Just because I did not do much research with the goldfish does not mean I know nothing about bettas! I have done a great spawn in the past but the food got here to late and the fry died fast. I know a lot more about bettas than I do about goldfish! Afishdude please do not get the feeling that I am a bad fish keeper all around.
Also I am a girl not a guy...
