Thanks alot guys! I have just changed the 50 to a planted tropical, bought a new light (wow was it expensive, hopefully worth it) I have never done a planted tank before and you all seem to have plants in everything so wish me luck!

I'm so jealous of all your beautiful tanks! When it gets really cold in Alberta this winter and your metabolism starts to slow down as you slip into hibernation, I'm going to slip over the Rockies and steal some of them! You have so many, surely you wouldn't miss a couple!

Lol! I know! I still have veggies growing in the garden and tomatoes ripening on the vines, but the leaves are starting to change colour and I was walking through some oak and maple leaves on my way home from work today!

Brown leaves on the ground make me sad, I just don't like winter. when I was younger I used to ski and such, but I gave that up and now I hate winter!
Luckily it isn't as bad in Calgary as it was when I used to live in Saskatchewan!

My uncle is living in Edmonton and he said he'd wear 4 trousers during winter times when it's below -40C!!
