Hello,

I just noticed that my tiger barb has some red lesions on both of his sides starting from the gills to about halfway through his body. Is it perhaps a hemorrage?
stats:

- he is in a 10 G tank by himself ( he harrased all other fish that i tried to put in there, so i had to remove them)
- 7.5 PH
- no ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate under 10
- theres some snails- an amazon sword.
- 20% water change every week- water treated with amquel and the gravel is vacummed with eheim sludge extractor.Filter insert changed every 2 weeks
-he is over 2 years old

any ideas?Thanks!

Sounds like he won't make it.
Is the bleeding beneath the skin.

The gills can be red also to bad water quality and gill flukes.
Your water quality fine so it not that.
Need to ask some question to rule out gill flukes.
Any signs of flicking and rubbing or laboured breathing, gasping at the top of the tank.

no, he is fine- he eats with the same appetite as always and he is swimming normally. I also noticd that the back half of him had black splotches. I will try and get a pic of him, but he is very fast.

Black patches can be ammonia burns that are healing.
